LEARN OUR PROCESS

Since 1993, our clients have put their trust in us and we’ve delivered a phenomenal experience. It all begins with listening, and us taking the time to find out what homeowners really want in their new dream space.

MEET & DISCUSS

Scott goes to each job himself. During this free consultation, he sits down with the client and listens to their goals for a renovation. He takes measurements and photos of the space to be transformed.

DESIGN

To begin your kitchen or bathroom project, a $250 design fee will be applied. This fee includes an in-depth consultation, personalized design planning, and expert guidance tailored to your space. If you choose to move forward with your project through us, the design fee will be credited toward your remodel. If you decide not to proceed, the designs are yours to keep.

VISIT & CHOOSE

While at our store, clients can explore our showrooms to view samples and make their material selections, including cabinetry, countertops, backsplashes, flooring, and hardware.

ORDER

Scott finalizes the proposal into a contract, and the client provides a down payment. Financing options are available, making it easier to start your renovation right away. Once the contract is complete, Scott places the orders for all required materials.

BUILD

Working together, Scott and the client create a realistic project timeline. He researches the industry to find providers who can deliver cabinetry faster than most home renovation companies. We coordinate closely with our trusted contractors, and our dedicated field supervisor oversees the installation to ensure everything runs smoothly, on time, and on budget. After completion, Scott follows up with each client to confirm they are fully satisfied with their renovation.

ABOUT

OVER 40 YEARS OF CRAFTSMANSHIP TRADITION

Growing up helping his father on repair jobs, always lending a hand with the tools, Scott Herceg started working in a cabinet shop right out of high school, in 1977. He worked there during the day as an apprentice to a cabinetmaker who took Scott under his wing.  At the same time, he was attending and graduating from night school “to make mom happy.”  But he knew all along that the cabinetry and renovation business was where his passion lies. He worked his way up to foreman at the shop, also learning to build cabinetry and custom-made furniture. Then in 1993, he founded Kitchen Design Center with a commitment to top quality craftsmanship and customer service. Building a loyal team around him, Scott is still the one who goes to homes and meets the clients face-to-face. When spreading the word to others about their experience with KDC, past clients mention that low-key, personalized, no-pressure service—with more listening than speaking—always comes first with KDC.


Not many company owners got their start in the business 45 years ago and can assemble cabinets themselves. Scott Herceg and his team know the ins and outs of any job. Before the first measurement is taken, he sits down with the client in their home and listens to their wants, needs and preferences. Then he invites them into the showroom to go over samples. Scott takes his time throughout the process, never putting pressure on people. Once they get to selecting cabinets, countertops and flooring, he says he can meet or beat other companies, including the big box stores

  • Do you have a showroom?

    Yes- we have a full showroom with a wide range of kitchen and bathroom displays to explore in person. You’re welcome to walk in during our open hours, or schedule an appointment for dedicated one-on-one time with our team.

  • Do you offer design services?

    Yes! We provide professional kitchen and bath design services to help bring your vision to life. Our designers work with you to create detailed layouts, select materials, and ensure your space is both beautiful and functional. The process begins with a design consultation, and if you choose to move forward with us, the $250 design fee is applied toward your project.

  • Do you work with your own contractors?

    Yes. We coordinate with our trusted contractors and have a dedicated field supervisor who oversees every installation to ensure quality and efficiency. However, if you already have a contractor you prefer to work with, we are happy to collaborate with them as well.

  • How far do you travel for remodeling projects?

    We proudly serve the greater Cleveland area and surrounding communities, typically within a 50-mile radius of our office in Valley View. If you’re unsure whether your home falls within our service area, just give us a call and we’ll be happy to confirm.

  • Do you offer financing opions?

    Yes. We provide financing options so you can start your renovation without delay. Scott will review the details with you during the proposal and contract stage. Visit our FINANCING section to learn more.
